At ALLEGRO, we are pushing the boundaries of backbone network capabilities by exploring next-generation high-capacity transmission solutions. Our work focuses on numerical analyses and experimental validation, when possible, to upgrade current 400G solutions toward 800G or higher data rates.
Key areas of investigation include:
✅ DSP algorithms for nonlinear mitigation, both with and without ML, tailored to real-world deployment scenarios.
✅ Development of N x 1 Tbps P2P and P2MP transceivers to scale backbone network capacity in a cost-effective way.
Why does this matter?
P2P transmission will enable National CO to National CO (WAN nodes) connectivity, while P2MP transmission will support both National CO to National CO and National CO to Regional CO (WAN and core/service metro nodes) connectivity. These advancements will enhance scalability, efficiency, and meet future traffic demands seamlessly.
