Excited to share our latest work on Bi-Di transmission between two 400G-capable coherent transceivers (TRXs) over a single fibre at 193.0 THz! This setup enables both upstream (US) and downstream (DS) channels to share the same center frequency, pushing the boundaries of spectral efficiency and network optimization.

🔬 Our experiment focused on evaluating sensitivity penalties due to discrete and distributed reflections (RFL). Key aspects include:
✅ Experimental setup: Analyzing received power (P_RX) and signal-to-reflection ratio (SNR_RFL) at the testing point.
✅ Signal configurations: Full-mode (SC & DSCM) and half-mode for DSCM.
✅ Reflection impact analysis: Testing different SNR_RFL conditions by varying discrete and distributed reflection contributions.
✅ RX sensitivity evaluations: Adjusting the received power to assess performance under different reflection scenarios.

Understanding these impairments is critical for optimizing coherent optical systems, ensuring robust performance even in challenging reflective environments. Looking forward to further insights and discussions on how Bi-Di transmission can enhance next-gen optical networks!
