Talk title: “Physical layer in coherent PON”
In his presentation, Prof. Gaudino addressed the technical challenges of integrating coherent detection into Passive Optical Networks (PONs), including:
- Managing high ODN (optical distribution network) loss budgets.
- Evaluating modulation formats and architectures.
- Exploring scalability and deployment feasibility for 100G/200G next-gen PONs.
