  • Proposes a hierarchical certificate authority (CA) architecture that supports both classical and post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) signature algorithms, enabling a smooth transition path toward quantum-safe authentication.
  • Automates certificate issuance and verification, targeting scalability across many clients with minimal requirements on end entities.
  • Protects the root CA certificates via cross-domain trust chains, allowing prompt switching between classical and PQC during transitional phases.
  • Evaluates performance trade-offs for signature schemes SPHINCS⁺, Falcon, and Dilithium, exploring how issuance and verification scale under varying configurations.

This work contributes to the Allegro project’s goal of integrating quantum-aware security into practical network infrastructures.
