Presented at the premier photonics conference, SPIE Photonics West 2025, this work dives into advanced optical-switching architectures designed to support AI computing systems. By replacing or augmenting traditional electronic interconnects with optical mechanisms, we demonstrate pathways to higher throughput, lower latency, and improved energy efficiency for large-scale machine-learning workloads and AI accelerator clusters.
