This paper tackles one of the key challenges in next-generation optical networks: ensuring efficient resource allocation while maintaining quality-of-transmission (QoT) guarantees. The authors propose a statistical, multi-period, and low-margin approach for resource allocation in C+L-band elastic optical networks (EONs).

By leveraging this approach, the study demonstrates improvements in spectral efficiency, reliability, and scalability, providing new insights for the design of future high-capacity optical networks.

This achievement reflects the Allegro EU Project’s commitment to advancing intelligent, energy-efficient, and future-proof communication infrastructures.
